Immortal Secrets

Dear Readabulous Fans,
Every now and again I run across a book series that surpasses my expectations.  One such series is The Immortal Secrets of Nicholas Flamel by Michael Scott.  It is a six volume series that has kept me quite facinated as of late.  I originally purchased a couple of the books as a gift for my niece, not knowing that she was already a fan of the series.  After viewing the book trailer online, my curiosity was piqued and I began reading the first book.  To my utter amazement and surprise, I couldn't put it down!  I have spent every spare moment I have reading these books and I love every one of them! They are full of mystery, intrigue, magic, history and creatures that are only mentioned in ancient mythology.  If you enjoyed books like Harry Potter, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe or simply enjoy an action-packed fantasy.  If you love magic or have a passion for all things mysterious, you will definitely enjoy this series.  Give it a read and let me know what you think.  In my humble opinion, the series is definitely READABULOUS!!!

P.S.  I've included an awesome book trailer for the first book, The Alchemyst.   Please check it out and let me know what you think!

Happy Hunger Games! May the odds be ever in your favor!

Hi there readabulous fans!!!

Well... I went to see Hunger Games last night and I was not disappointed!  Ok... not much!  Let's face it though, they couldn't possibly include everything that was in the book.  It would have been a 4 hour movie!
I really did enjoy the movie!  I was told by a friend that the author wrote the screenplay.  She did a really good job!  The actions scenes were awesome and the casting was very true to form!  There were even people dressed in costume at the theater!  It was great!  I had a blast!

Did you see the movie?  Have you read the books?  Share your thoughts!

Have a fabulous readabulous day!

Hunger Games:Simply Readabulous!

Wow!  What a great book!  I just finished the first book in the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins and I can hardly wait to get to the next book!   The description of the characters great and the plot was well written.  It kept me on the edge of my seat! My only complaint is that is took nearly 100 pages to get the real action.  There were plenty of plot twists and things to ooh and ahh over but, I like a book with almost constant action from the very beginning.
For the people who don't know what the Hunger Games is about, here's a quick summary:

Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When her sister is chosen by lottery, Katniss steps up to go in her place.

If you've read the book or even the whole series, feel free to chime in and share your thoughts.  I would love to hear from you!
I'm going to the midnight showing of the Hunger Games tonight.  I wonder if the movie will be a close tie to the book?  Oh well...guess you'll have to wait for my next blog to find out!

Have a fabulous, readabulous day!!

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Hello everyone and welcome to Readabulous!  My name is Tracy Rodney and I love to read just about anything!  This blog has been created to discuss readabulous books and other types of literature.  A readabulous piece of literature is any that you consider to be a fabulous, must read.  You are welcome to share your thoughts as often as you wish.  I will ask that you not give away the plot or the story because that may discourage someone from reading your fabulous find and we don't want that.   Just give a few details and maybe a juicy highlight or two.  I insist that all submissions to this blog be kept "G" rated or clean.  This blog will be utilized by my students as well as my friends.

Thank you again for joining me!  I'm looking forward to hearing from you all!

Have a fabulous readabulous day!
