Hunger Games:Simply Readabulous!

Wow!  What a great book!  I just finished the first book in the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins and I can hardly wait to get to the next book!   The description of the characters great and the plot was well written.  It kept me on the edge of my seat! My only complaint is that is took nearly 100 pages to get the real action.  There were plenty of plot twists and things to ooh and ahh over but, I like a book with almost constant action from the very beginning.
For the people who don't know what the Hunger Games is about, here's a quick summary:

Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When her sister is chosen by lottery, Katniss steps up to go in her place.

If you've read the book or even the whole series, feel free to chime in and share your thoughts.  I would love to hear from you!
I'm going to the midnight showing of the Hunger Games tonight.  I wonder if the movie will be a close tie to the book?  Oh well...guess you'll have to wait for my next blog to find out!

Have a fabulous, readabulous day!!
Mrs. Rodney
