Happy Hunger Games! May the odds be ever in your favor!

Hi there readabulous fans!!!

Well... I went to see Hunger Games last night and I was not disappointed!  Ok... not much!  Let's face it though, they couldn't possibly include everything that was in the book.  It would have been a 4 hour movie!
I really did enjoy the movie!  I was told by a friend that the author wrote the screenplay.  She did a really good job!  The actions scenes were awesome and the casting was very true to form!  There were even people dressed in costume at the theater!  It was great!  I had a blast!

Did you see the movie?  Have you read the books?  Share your thoughts!

Have a fabulous readabulous day!

  1. I was there with you! It was great. In order to get all the details of the book into the movie, the movie would need to be 5 hours long. I think the movie did not have the heaviness and darkness of the book. It was a bit "sugar-coated" from my point of view. Some of the powerful statements from the book about social inequality (See Katniss and Madge and how she really got the mockingjay pin) were missing.

Overall, the movie flew by faster than the 2.5 hours it really was. Books like the Hunger Games and James Patterson's Maximum Ride series are the way of the future! Unfortunately, people have short attention spans, very little time, and are reading at a lower level, Collin's writing style fits in very well with our current reading habits.

Great book, Good movie well worth the brutal Friday that followed from the little sleep I got because we went to the midnight premier.

  3. I have read all of the books in the Hunger Games trilogy and enjoyed them more than I thought I would. I didn't brave the midnight showing of the movie, but I was there on Friday morning and was surprised by the turn out.

As previously stated the movie had to cut parts out due to time constraints, but I think they did a great job. The movie also made Katniss a more likeable character because in the books I found her to be selfish. It's hard to bring that out in the film since you can't hear what she is thinking at all times. Either way I loved it and can't wait for the next one.

    Team Peeta all the way!
